“I wish AI could surpass humans in empathy, it should be pretty easy”
Adam Russell, AI/nthropologist and Director of the AI Division at the USC Information Sciences Institute (ISI), is on a journey to help build a better world with AI. He interviews the ISI humans behind AI to understand what motivates them, how they shape AI today, and where they hope AI will go.
Casandra Rusti, a research assistant at ISI, explores the importance of trying things you don’t know how to do yet. She explains how her background in HR contributed to the path she took in AI, how math helped bring her there, and how her childhood as an immigrant fits into the story.
